Final thoughts on the model
May 2010

As you may have surmised, the area of my greatest interest is the industrial era. I only went back and did the research for the evolutionary model to see if the rhythms for the industrial era were present in prior economic eras. Therefore the overall model – the think piece - will remain just that as it is. I don't intend to do much work on it in future. The work ahead for me will be in researching the industrial in much greater detail.
My thinking is that even if the entire proposed construct for this model is totally wrong, then perhaps in the future the data might be of use for newer constructs and related research areas. To that end I am seeking a comprehensive biography on the “boy philosopher”: Friedrich Wilhelm Joseph Schelling (27 January 1775 – 20 August 1854), later von Schelling. I have found little in English therefore I suspect I will have to find one written in German. If you know of such a book please drop me a line.
The only area which I may do additional work on for the think piece is in trying to determine the force of technology development on history. I would also like to examine the construct for the model in the industrial era using more of the scientific method. I would like to apply the inverse square logic in Newton's gravitation law as well as Coulomb's law for electrostatics. There are other applications as well in everything from light to sound for the inverse square law. I think that law says something extremely elemental about the universe. As humans evolved within the universe I doubt we escaped the force.
Newton's Theory -
Where:
F is the magnitude of the gravitational force between the two point masses,
G is the gravitational constant
m1 is the mass of the first point mass,
m2 is the mass of the second point mass, and
r is the distance between the two point masses.

The key to start unlocking this would be to produce a formula which reproduces the distinctive “S” shaped pattern which every technology goes through. Then one could begin to address the gravitational constant as the model proposes answers for factors m1, m2 and r. This is definitely an activity for retirement days. Any thoughts you might share would be sincerely appreciated.
